FlashDrama
This research note is kept separate from the app profile so the main page stays focused on ranking data.
One-line positioning
FlashDrama is a free vertical short-drama app targeting emerging markets such as Southeast Asia and Latin America, featuring 1-minute episodes free to watch with ads and largely mass-translated content. After launching in mid-2026 it grew quickly and entered the top of the US Google Play new free entertainment charts. Store records show the iOS version is run by an individual developer (Zamvak TAREF) and the Android version by another individual developer (oumaima); neither the website nor the privacy policy discloses any corporate entity, so the company affiliation remains unconfirmed.
Product & company
Neither the store listings nor the privacy policy disclose any corporate entity: the iOS developer Zamvak TAREF and the Android developer oumaima are both individual accounts (the latter also runs 12 casual games), and the two platforms are operated by different parties. The privacy policy only refers to 'FlashDrama and its affiliates' without giving a company name, registered address or jurisdiction. Several other packages and developers share the same brand name, including com.bid.future.drama (Samy Official) and com.vaepos.video (devs 0003). No mainland or overseas corporate entity is visible in public records.
Business model & format
Free to download with advertising (IAA) as the main revenue source: the Google Play listing shows ads and no in-app purchases, while the iOS listing states that most episodes require payment to unlock and offers coin purchases plus auto-renewing subscriptions alongside ads. Third-party estimates put iOS monthly revenue at only about $500 with about 725 monthly downloads, so overall it is a long-tail model of free access plus ads with small in-app purchases and subscriptions.
Growth & market
After its Google Play launch in late July 2026 the app scaled quickly: AppBrain estimates about 570K cumulative downloads, reaching #7 on the US Google Play new free entertainment chart and charting in other markets such as the Netherlands. There are no dedicated media or industry reports (e.g. Sensor Tower) and no published ad-creative data. The oumaima account released 13 apps in a short window during 2025-2026, mostly casual games, consistent with an individual-studio batch-launch approach.
Risks & watchpoints
The corporate identity is entirely unclear: no company entity exists, the iOS and Android versions are run by different individual accounts, and several other packages and developers share the same name, creating confusion. The iOS app has poor ratings (1.5-2.6 across trackers), with reviews focused on subscription-billing disputes, login failures and rewarded-ads that fail to unlock episodes. Content is claimed as self-produced but no evidence of original production exists, raising copyright risks for mass-translated titles. The privacy policy names no operator, data may be stored in the US and Turkiye, and the domain was registered in 2025 with hidden WHOIS data, leaving low transparency.
