PRODUCT RESEARCH
LumiDrama
This research note is kept separate from the app profile so the main page stays focused on ranking data.
One-line positioning
LumiDrama is a free vertical short-drama app launched in May 2026, monetized mainly by in-app ads and offering romance, suspense, fantasy and reel-style content. It entered free-download charts in Indonesia and Spain shortly after launch through paid user acquisition. Store records show the Android version is operated by A & B TECHNOLOGIES LTD (UK) and the iOS version by Storyspark media limited (Hong Kong); the relationship between the two operators and the product's corporate ownership remain to be verified.
Product & company
Store records identify two different operating entities: Android developer A & B TECHNOLOGIES LTD (UK, Companies House registration no. 14987186, controlled by Abubakar Sultan, incorporated 2023) and iOS seller Storyspark media limited (corresponding to Hong Kong's StorySpark Media Limited, incorporated 2025). Both are registered company entities, but no public evidence shows they belong to the same group, and no link to any mainland China company has been found.
Business model & format
Free with IAA (in-app advertising): free to download and monetized through ads; the Android listing shows no in-app purchases and carries an ad label, while the iOS listing also shows no in-app purchases. The model is traffic-driven with low expected revenue per download.
Growth & market
Released on Google Play on May 27, 2026, it reached 100K+ installs within about two months (AppstoreSpy) and roughly 670K cumulative downloads with about 460K in the last 30 days (AppBrain). It briefly ranked around #32 in the Indonesian Google Play free entertainment/short-drama chart and entered the top 90 of the Spanish Google Play free entertainment chart. The iOS version launched on May 8, 2026 and has only one rating so far.
Risks & watchpoints
Corporate ownership is not closed: the iOS and Android versions are operated by two different company entities, and no public registry evidence shows their relationship or the product's ultimate ownership. The official site is still a 'Coming Soon' page without contact email or privacy policy, raising compliance-transparency concerns, and the iOS rating is only 1.0. The free IAA model relies heavily on paid acquisition and ad fill with very low revenue per download, so a slowdown in acquisition would directly pressure growth; the copyright compliance of its aggregated content library also remains to be observed.
