DramaWave
This research note is kept separate from the app profile so the main page stays focused on ranking data.
One-line positioning
DramaWave is the overseas vertical AI short-drama platform operated by Kunlun Tech (Shenzhen: 300418) through its Singapore entity SKYWORK AI PTE LTD. Powered by the in-house SkyReels video model and SkyProduction toolchain, it produces AI-native content and is among the fastest-growing top short-drama apps in 2025–2026.
Product & company
Store listings and the privacy policy identify SKYWORK AI PTE. LTD. (Singapore) as DramaWave's overseas publisher and operating entity. Kunlun Tech's official site lists “short-drama platform DramaWave” and the “AI short-drama creation platform SkyReels” among its products, and several official reports and media outlets place it under Kunlun Tech. The structure is: Kunlun Tech (A-share group) → SKYWORK AI PTE LTD (Singapore overseas entity) → DramaWave, with the group's free platform FreeReels forming a paid-plus-free dual front end.
Business model & format
DramaWave offers tens of thousands of vertical dramas and reels in 18 languages, with features such as on-screen comments, offline download and an anime channel. Content is industrially produced via the SkyReels video model and SkyProduction toolchain, with over 90% of new titles in 2026 generated by AI. It uses a mixed “free content plus subscription/unlock” model and works alongside the group's free platform FreeReels.
Growth & market
DramaWave relies on Meta/Google/TikTok buying, with AI-generated creatives further lowering cost; downloads rose 90% month-on-month and revenue 35.4% in December 2025. Full-year 2025 revenue was about US$186M (4th among overseas short dramas), and in H1 2026 its monthly gross exceeded US$65M, ranking first overseas. Its go-global core is the scalable replication of “AI industrial production plus creator support plus the SkyProduction tool.”
Risks & watchpoints
The entity evidence is solid and classification stable, so the product is suitable for public listing. One technical note: the iOS bundle id com.dramabuzz.app differs from the Android package id com.dramawave.app (same developer and entity, but different package names). Deduplication and data merging must keep both package ids to avoid misreading them as two products. Direct equity evidence via Singapore ACRA and Kunlun's annual reports is recommended to complete the picture.
